Popmenu Pricing 2026: Plans, the $1 Order Fee, Contract Terms

Popmenu's headline price is $179 a month. That number buys a good website and email tools. It does not buy online ordering. Ordering is an add-on on every Popmenu plan, and every online order then carries a flat $1.00 fee.

So the honest answer to "how much does Popmenu cost?" is: $179 to $499 a month, plus an ordering add-on Popmenu prices by quote, plus $1 per order, plus whatever your contract says about renewals. This article walks through each piece using Popmenu's own pricing page and its Client Terms of Service, both as of 2026.

A disclosure before we start: Menuline sells restaurant websites and commission-free ordering, so we compete with Popmenu. We've tried to write the page we'd want to read if we were shopping, including the parts where Popmenu is the better buy. Confirm every figure with Popmenu before you sign.

What are Popmenu's published plans?

Popmenu publishes three plans. Prices below are per its published pricing page as of 2026.

Popmenu's published plans: Starter $179, Essentials $299, Premier $499 per month billed monthly, or $159, $269, $449 prepaid annually

Plan Billed monthly Prepaid annually What it adds
Starter $179/mo $159/mo SEO-driven website, interactive menu, Google Business Profile sync, automated email, dish reviews, event calendar, OpenTable integration
Essentials $299/mo $269/mo Mass email campaigns, social posting, 500 SMS messages, 6 AI-crafted emails and social posts a month, marketing calendar, reporting
Premier $499/mo $449/mo 5,000 SMS messages, audience segmentation, digital waitlist and reservations, guest feedback, reputation management, AI review replies

A "Build your own" option covers custom and multi-location setups at what Popmenu calls special enterprise rates. For additional locations, the pricing FAQ says only that multi-location restaurants "receive tiered savings."

The annual option saves 10%. Over a year that is $2,148 vs $1,908 on Starter, $3,588 vs $3,228 on Essentials, and $5,988 vs $5,388 on Premier. Popmenu's FAQ says an annual plan "locks in a 10% discount for 12 months."

What does Popmenu charge for online ordering?

Two separate things, and it's easy to conflate them.

  1. The online ordering suite is an add-on. On the plan comparison, "Online ordering & catering" is marked as an add-on for Starter, Essentials, and Premier alike. The suite covers direct ordering, catering, in-house and DoorDash delivery, and curbside pickup. Popmenu does not print the add-on's price on the pricing page, so you'll get it from sales.
  2. Every online order carries a $1.00 fee. From Popmenu's pricing FAQ: it doesn't take a percentage, and instead charges "a flat $1.00 per online order," which "can either be passed to the guest at checkout or absorbed by the restaurant."

Popmenu's terms call these "Online Ordering Transaction Fees" and state they are "in addition to the recurring subscription fees and any one-time fees specified in Your Subscription Agreement." The terms also mention separate fees for catering orders, so ask what your catering orders will cost before you promote catering.

Also on the add-on list, depending on plan: AI phone answering, AI marketing with segmentation, digital waitlist and reservations (below Premier), MMS messages, eCard gift card integration, and "Boost & paid ads" on Premier.

What does Popmenu really cost per month?

Here is the Starter plan with the $1 fee absorbed by the restaurant, at three order volumes. We can't include the ordering add-on because Popmenu doesn't publish it, so treat each figure as a floor.

Popmenu Starter plus $1 per order, before the ordering add-on: $379 at 200 orders, $679 at 500 orders, $1,179 at 1,000 orders, versus Menuline Growth at $99

Online orders per month Starter plan $1 order fees (absorbed) Monthly floor, before the add-on
200 $179 $200 $379
500 $179 $500 $679
1,000 $179 $1,000 $1,179

Two things stand out.

  • The per-order fee is small per ticket but not small per year. At 500 orders a month, the $1 fee alone is $6,000 a year if you absorb it.
  • Passing the fee to guests changes the math a lot. If guests pay the $1, your bill falls back to the plan price plus the add-on. That's a legitimate choice. Most direct-ordering platforms put some fee on the diner, including ours.

How does the diner fee compare with Menuline's?

Since we're comparing, here is our side plainly. Menuline charges the restaurant $29/month (Starter) or $99/month (Growth) with 0% commission and no per-order fee to the restaurant. Diners pay a 5% platform fee at checkout on Menuline orders.

That means the diner-side comparison depends on ticket size:

Order subtotal Popmenu fee if passed to guest Menuline 5% diner fee
$15 $1.00 $0.75
$20 $1.00 $1.00
$30 $1.00 $1.50
$50 $1.00 $2.50

Above a $20 subtotal, Popmenu's flat $1 is cheaper for the guest than our 5%. We'd rather tell you that than have you find it on a receipt. Where Menuline is cheaper is on the restaurant's side of the ledger: no ordering add-on, no per-order fee to you, and a plan price that tops out at $99.

What do the contract terms say?

This is the section most pricing pages skip. Popmenu's Client Terms of Service (marked "Updated: January 3, 2024") are part of your Subscription Agreement. A few clauses matter for your budget:

  • Minimum Commitment Period. Your Subscription Agreement sets a "Minimum Duration," "Contract Length," or similar. You may not terminate during it, and "any attempt to terminate" early "will accelerate Your unpaid fee obligations" so they become due immediately.
  • Automatic one-year renewals. Unless your agreement says otherwise, after the minimum period the subscription "will automatically renew for one-year terms," unless either party gives written notice at least 30 days before the term ends.
  • Price changes. After the minimum period, or during a renewal term, Popmenu "reserves the right to increase the fees for the Services (including the Online Ordering Transaction Fees)" to its then-current rate card, with 60 days' written notice.
  • Annual discounts are all-or-nothing. If you have a discount tied to bundled services or annual upfront payment and you cancel one service or change the payment interval, the terms say the discount "will cease to apply to all remaining Services."
  • Your data after you leave. On termination, Popmenu "has the right to delete Your Account and any associated data," and you are "not entitled to a copy of pops and reviews after termination." Export what you need before your end date.

None of this is unusual for B2B software. But it sits in some tension with the friendly pricing FAQ ("upgrade or downgrade anytime. No penalties."). Plan changes and cancellation are different things. Before you sign, get the Minimum Commitment Period and the renewal terms written into your Subscription Agreement in plain numbers.

Where is Popmenu worth the money?

Popmenu is a real product with real strengths. It's the better choice if:

  • You want the interactive menu. Dish photos, guest dish reviews, and responses are Popmenu's signature, and nothing in Menuline replicates that format.
  • You need SMS. Essentials includes 500 SMS messages a month and Premier includes 5,000. Menuline's marketing is email only.
  • You run reservations or a waitlist. Premier includes a digital waitlist and reservations with capacity management. Menuline doesn't offer reservations.
  • You're an OpenTable restaurant. Every Popmenu plan lists OpenTable menu and guest data integration.
  • You want someone to answer the phone. AI phone answering is a Popmenu add-on. We don't offer it.
  • You want a periodic redesign. The comparison table lists a website refresh every 18 months.

If your restaurant is a full-service dining room that lives on reservations and texts, Popmenu's Premier tier is built for you, and the price reflects it.

Where does Popmenu get expensive?

Popmenu's pricing gets heavy when online ordering is the main thing you need. You pay the base plan for website and marketing, then the add-on for ordering, then $1 per order. A takeout-first pizzeria, cafe, or halal grill pays for a marketing suite built around dining rooms, then pays again to take orders.

That's the profile where a flat-fee platform usually wins. Menuline includes the SEO website, commission-free pickup ordering, loyalty and rewards, and automated SEO pages on the $29 Starter plan. The $99 Growth plan adds a branded iOS and Android app and AI-powered email marketing. Both plans are month-to-month, and Menuline handles setup and migration with a dedicated specialist. One honest gap: Menuline's ordering is pickup only today. We don't bundle a courier network.

Popmenu Starter Menuline Growth
Monthly price $179 ($159 prepaid annually) $99 ($1/mo for the first 3 months)
Online ordering Paid add-on Included
Per-order fee to restaurant $1.00 unless passed to guest None
Diner fee $1.00 if you pass it on 5% platform fee
Branded mobile app Not listed on published plans Included
SMS marketing From Essentials ($299) No, email only
Reservations Premier or add-on No

What should you ask Popmenu before signing?

Bring this list to the demo. Every question comes from a clause or line item above.

  1. What does the online ordering and catering add-on cost per month at my number of locations?
  2. Will I absorb the $1.00 per-order fee or pass it to guests, and can I change that later?
  3. What are the fees on catering orders?
  4. What is my Minimum Commitment Period, and what happens if I close or sell the restaurant during it?
  5. Does my agreement auto-renew for one-year terms? What is the exact notice date?
  6. After the minimum period, how much notice will I get before a rate increase?
  7. How do I export my guest list, menu, and photos before I leave?
  8. Which add-ons (AI phone answering, reservations, MMS) will I actually need in year one?

If the answers fit your budget, Popmenu is a strong platform. If they don't, the free Menuline AI grader scores your current website, Google presence, and ordering setup in about a minute, which is useful before you commit to anyone.

The bottom line

Popmenu publishes $179, $299, and $499 a month (10% less prepaid annually). Online ordering is an add-on on every plan, and each online order carries a flat $1.00 fee that you can absorb or pass to guests. The contract terms deserve as much attention as the price: a Minimum Commitment Period, automatic one-year renewals with a 30-day notice window, and rate increases on 60 days' notice after the minimum period. Popmenu earns its price for reservation-driven dining rooms that want SMS and an interactive menu. For takeout-heavy restaurants that mainly need a website and commission-free ordering, Menuline covers that for $29 to $99 a month, with a 5% fee paid by diners at checkout.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Popmenu cost per month?

Per Popmenu's published pricing page as of 2026, plans are $179/month (Starter), $299/month (Essentials), and $499/month (Premier) billed monthly, or $159, $269, and $449/month prepaid annually. Can I cancel Popmenu anytime?

Read your Subscription Agreement. Popmenu's Client Terms of Service (updated January 3, 2024) say you cannot terminate during the Minimum Commitment Period in your agreement, that early termination makes the remaining fees due immediately, and that subscriptions then auto-renew for one-year terms unless either side gives 30 days' written notice.

Menuline is $29/month (Starter) or $99/month (Growth), $1/month for the first 3 months, with commission-free online ordering included and no per-order fee to the restaurant. Diners pay a 5% platform fee at checkout. Popmenu still leads on interactive menus, SMS, and reservations, so compare features, not just price.
